The District Uttar Kannada is one of the biggest Districts of Karnataka state. The District has varied geographical features with thick forest,
perennial rivers and abundant flora and fauna and a long coastal line of about 140 Kms.It is surrounded by Belgaum district and state Goa in the north,
by Dharwad District in the east, by Shimoga District and Udupi districts in the south. Arabian Sea forms the west boarder.
In its10.25 lakhs hectors of total land, of which 8.28 hectares are forest land.
And only about1.3 lakh hecters of land (roughlyabout10%) is under agriculture/horticulture.
The districts has 11 talukas of which six namely, Bhatkal, Ankola, Honnavar,
Kumta and Karwar are coastal talukes and the remaining five talukes; Sirsi, Siddapur, Yellapur, Joida and Haliyal lying at ghat section. It has 35 Revenue circles and 209 Gram Panjayats. According to 2001census,
9.65 of population live in rural areas towards the total population of 13.54 lakhs.
The Vidyalaya is located in reserve forest, in the Mundugod taluk of North Canara of Karnataka.
The institution is located at the midpoint of Sirsi and Mundugod about 30kms away from each point on the side of Sirsi-Hubli state Highway.
The nearest main bus stand is Malgi just 4kms away from the Vidyalaya .Most of the buses are also have stop at the Vidyalaya Bus stand.
The nearest Railway station is Hubli in the East and Kumta in the South of about 60Kms away from the Vidyalaya.
The place enjoys moderate climate through out the year.
