At Jog, the river Sharavathy flowing over a rocky bed, splits into separate streams called as Raja, Rani, Rocket and Roarer. Considered as one of the highest waterfalls in the world, the cascading waters seen to descend from the heaven riding on the arch of a rainbow.

The ‘Devi’ is worshipped as ‘Amba” the mother. The Marikamba jatra which is held once in every two years, is one of the largest jatras in the state.

24 kms from Sirsi, Banavasi is a historical village. Madhukeswar Temple and Madhumathi (Parvati) Temple are summit of Kadamba art. The tall Nandis of the temple are famous. The honey coloured Madhukeswar linga shines even in darkness. Another attraction is a stone cot carved from a singles stone and many statues of sculptural beauty. There is also a small museum. The river Varada flowing in front of the temple adds to the Ambience.

The Om Beach, named because of its shape, is 11 kms from Gokarn. Foreign tourists because of its seclusion and the privacy it offers regularly throng it. Adjacent to this beach are Half Moon beach and Paradise beach. Kudle beach is an other beach nearby which is popular with foreigners.
