JOG FALLS:

Location : 40 Kms From Sirsi, Karnataka
Is situated in Uttar Kannada & Shimoga district at a distance of about 380 kms from Bangalore. Talaguppa is the nearest railway station on the Birur line. During the mansoon months when the Jog falls are at their magnificent best, KSRTC conducts weekend tours to this place. At Jog, the river Sharavathy flowing over a rocky bed, splits into separate streams called as Raja, Rani, Rocket and Roarer. Considered as one of the highest waterfalls in the world, the cascading waters seen to descend from the heaven riding on the arch of a rainbow.

YANA CAVES:

Location : 40 Kms From Sirsi, Karnataka
Located amongst the evergreen forest of the Sahyadri Mountains, Yana Caves are 25 kms for Kumta, a small coastal town and 40-km for Sirsi, a commercial centre. One can experience wilder ness in all its holiness and loneliness in this limestone rock dome paradise. Yana is known for its unique rock formations and is a haven for rock climbers.

MARIKAMBA TEMPLE SIRSI:

Location : 24 Kms From school, Karnataka
Sirsi is a taluk head quarters, and being on slopes of Western Ghats,is very different in weather from the coastal taluks of Uttara Kannada dist. The temple Marikamba here is one of the most popular places of religious significance. The present statue of ‘Devi’ was installed in 1669. The temple itself is more than 300 years old. The ‘Devi’ is worshipped as ‘Amba” the mother. The Marikamba jatra which is held once in every two years, is one of the largest jatras in the state.

BANAVASI:

Location : 25 Kms From School, Karnataka
24 kms from Sirsi, Banavasi is a historical village. Madhukeswar Temple and Madhumathi (Parvati) Temple are summit of Kadamba art. The tall Nandis of the temple are famous. The honey coloured Madhukeswar linga shines even in darkness. Another attraction is a stone cot carved from a singles stone and many statues of sculptural beauty. There is also a small museum. The river Varada flowing in front of the temple adds to the Ambience.

MURADESHWAR:

Location : 80 Kms From Sirsi, Karnataka
16 Kms from Bhatkal to the north on Honnavar-Bhatkal NH 17. The famous Mahtobara Temple can today boast of the tallest Shiva statue in the world. The statue has special reflecting eyes, which makes statue alive. The temple on the beach itself attracts a large number of tourists because of the sea shore ambience.

KARWAR :

Location : 130 Kms From Sirsi, Karnataka
The Om Beach, named because of its shape, is 11 kms from Gokarn. Foreign tourists because of its seclusion and the privacy it offers regularly throng it. Adjacent to this beach are Half Moon beach and Paradise beach. Kudle beach is an other beach nearby which is popular with foreigners.
